The original depot on the site was opened in 1993 by London Suburban Buses who required depot space for their recently won routes 4 and 271, followed by the acquisition of Route 41. London Suburban was taken over by MTL London Northern in 1995 and they transferred routes 4 and 271 to Holloway while Route 41 was transferred to Cowie Leaside in 1996 and the garage was closed.
1996 saw County Bus & Coach acquired by Cowie Group, who re-opened the garage in early 1997 and merged County Bus with the Leaside Travel unit before later in the year, Cowie Group rebranded as Arriva. Following the rebrand, the County Bus operation was merged as part of Arriva East Herts & Essex and operations were transferred to Ware, with Edmonton being closed.
Following the introduction of Mercedes Benz Citaro G Articulated vehicles by Arriva on Route 149, Edmonton was adapted and re-opened in 2005. This operation lasted until September 2012 when articulated operation ceased and the garage was once again closed. The closure however only lasted for 2 years as nearby Lea Valley garage was closed and all operations transferred to Edmonton.
