My dad, Charles Barton, was stationed here throughout WW2. I also recall, in probably 1945 or 46, standing just about opposite the station watching the trams as they changed from an underground power supply to an overhead supply as they travelled to Eltham (and then the reverse on the way back to Lewisham).
