<p class="has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Station History</strong></p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph" style="padding-top:15px;padding-bottom:15px">Although the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_and_North_Western_Railway" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">London &amp; Northwestern Railway</a> laid new tracks through the area as part of their New Line from Euston Watford Junction in 1912, it was not until 1st October 1916 that a Kensal Green Station was opened.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph" style="padding-top:15px;padding-bottom:15px">Train services through the station were bolstered by the London Underground <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bakerloo_line" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bakerloo Line</a> that had extended North from Queens Park in 1915.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph" style="padding-top:15px;padding-bottom:15px">Following the passing into law of the <a href="https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/Geo5/11-12/55/enacted" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Railways Act 1921</a>, the London &amp; North Western was amalgamated with other companies to become part of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph" style="padding-top:15px;padding-bottom:15px">This was followed by the passing of the <a href="https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/Geo6/10-11/49/enacted" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Transport Act 1947</a> that saw the &#8216;Big Four&#8217; railway companies of the time Nationalised to become British Railways. The line and its services were taken up by the Midland Region on 1st January 1948.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph" style="padding-top:15px;padding-bottom:15px">The station remained unchanged until 1980 when the original booking hall was demolished and the current building erected.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph" style="padding-top:15px;padding-bottom:15px">Due to falling patronage, London Underground withdrew the Bakerloo Line service between here and Watford Junction on 24th September 1982. However, this decision was reversed and services resumed as far as Harrow and Wealdstone on 4th June 1984.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph" style="padding-top:15px;padding-bottom:15px">Management changes saw the station pass to the London &amp; Southeastern business unit upon sectorisation in 1982, relaunched as Network Southeast on 10 June 1986.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph" style="padding-top:15px;padding-bottom:15px">Privatisation of the railways saw the station and line become part of National Express under their Silverlink Trains subsidiary in 1993.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph" style="padding-top:15px;padding-bottom:15px">The final change of management for the line and its stations came in November 2007 when Transport for London undertook operation of the services under their London Overground brand, while station management was assumed by London Underground.</p>
