Station History

The station was opened by the Tottenham & Forest Gate Railway on 9 July 1894 and was named ‘Walthamstow’

Following the passing of a Bill in 1902, ownership of the line and the station was awarded to the Great Eastern and Midland Railways, followed in 1948 by Nationalisation which saw ownership pass to British Railways. The station was renamed to Walthamstow Queen’s Road on 6 May 1968.
